With so many choices when it comes to purchasing just about anything, unless you are the expert in the field, how do you know what to pick off the shelf? When it comes to purchasing sunblock, Here are 3 things to remember
UVA/UVB PROTECTANT
The label should read “UVA/UVB” or “Broad Spectrum”. This allows for protection from every ray the sun produces.
SPF 30 MINIMUM!
SPF theoretically refers to the amount of time you can be in the sun without getting sunburned. Example… an SPF of 30 would allow you to stay in the sun 30 times longer than you could without protection.
ZINC OXIDE or TITANIUM DIOXIDE- ACTIVE INGREDIENTS
Check the ingredients on the back of you Sunblock. If the Active Ingredients list Zinc or Titanium Dioxide, you are getting a very solid block from the suns rays.
Aside form what is listed above, you are choosing sunscreens based on your needs, waterproof, scent, feel etc.
